The Paris Museum Pass (www.intermusees.com) is good for entry into the Château and Parc de Chantilly (Musée Condé)

Combination passes for the Domaine du Chantilly include the Pass Culture (Château et Parc de Chantilly and the Musée Vivant du Cheval; €14, €12 for kids 13-17, €8 for ages four to 12), Journée dans les Communs Princiers (Musée Vivant du Cheval and Potager des Princes; €14, €13 for kids 13-17, €10 for kids four to 12), Pass Nature (Parc du Château and Potager des Princes; €9, €7 for kids four to 12), and Un Weekend à Chantilly (Château et Parc de Chantilly, Musée Vivant du Cheval and Potager des Princes; €20, €18 for kids 13-17, €12 for kids four to 12). These passes are available through the participating museums.

The museum ticket includes entrance to the Château Parc et Jardins (the park ticket alone costs €3.50, €2 for kids four to 12). From the terrace outside the château, visitors can see the formal French Gardens and Grand Canal designed by Le Nôtre. But this is only a small fraction of the park grounds. Off to the left is the romantic-style Jardin Anglais with its newly restored Temple of Venus and Ile d’Amour. To the right of the formal gardens are the country Hameau, labyrinth and children’s playground. The forested section of the park to the south hides the new Kangaroo Park and secluded trails where you may see deer or rabbits. It would take a few hours to see all of this on foot, so opt for a silent, electric-powered boat ride (€5) along the canal (about 30 minutes), available daily except Tuesday, March 15 to October 15, from 10am to 6pm (operates every day July-August). There are also 25-minute forest tours on the tiny train (€5, €3 for kids four to 12), running daily, April to October, 1:30 to 6pm (11am to 7pm in July and August). A combined ticket for the museum, park, boat and train costs €15, €13 for kids 13-17, €9 for kids four to 12. A horse-drawn-carriage tour (€6, €4.50 for kids four to 12) for up to 10 passengers is available weekends and holidays from May through mid-October. The park and gardens are open daily from 10am to 7pm, March through October (the park closes Tuesday at lunch 12:45 to 2pm), and daily except Tuesday, 10:30am to 5pm, November through February.
