The Equisetopsida (sometimes called Sphenopsida) is a class of Pteridophyta sometimes regarded as a separate division Equisetophyta (or Arthrophyta). Modern molecular and morphological studies show that it is closely related to ferns.
The group has only one living genus Equisetum (horsetails), though the fossil record includes additional extinct groups.
