[ehr-bah-LOO-tchay dee kah-LOO-soh] doc area located in the northern part of Italy's piedmont region north of Turin. The vineyards are located in thirty-five different villages in and around the town of Caluso. These are ordinary dry white wines made from the erbaluce grape, although a rich, sweet dessert wine called caluso passito is also made. A sparkling version called Caluso Spumante is produced as well.
