Cross, Eric (1905-1980), born in Newry, and best known as the memorialist of The Tailor and Ansty (1942), a work of living folklore featuring Tim Buckley, an irreverent seanchaí from Gougane Barra, Co. Cork, with his irrepressibly contrary wife and collaborator Antsy (Anastasia).
