Erinna, Greek poetess of the island of Tēlos near Rhodes, probably of the fourth century BC, who died at the age of 19. She was famous for a poem of 300 hexameter lines, The Distaff (Ēlakatē), which has not survived except for a few quotations and papyrus fragments; it was written in memory of her friend Baucis from whom she had been separated by the latter's marriage and death.
