Esteban Abada Elementary School (EAES) is a public school located at Project 7, Quezon City. It is named after the late Esteban R. Abada, a former Philippine Senator. It is considered as a Model of Excellence (MOE) School by the Department of Education.[1] The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation funds the school, making it the first MOE to be funded by a private organization.[2] The school is also one of the few Philippine public schools that has access to multimedia such as educational television programs, CD-ROMs and the Internet. Almost all of the students are also computer literate.[3]
EAES is one of the remaining public elementary school in Quezon City which has a huge grass field where students and teachers can perform their outdoor activities such as camping and other forms of recreation. EAES also has two basketball–multipurpose courts which can be used by the students and teachers in various sports activities.
EAES likewise is a consistent venue and host of the Young Writers Seminar Workshop conducted by the Division of City Schools of Quezon City in which qualified elementary school students from different participating schools are trained with necessary skills and disciplines needed in the field of journalism.
The Metro Manila North Council (MMNC) of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines also recognizes EAES as one of the top performing school in the council with regards to EAES's accomplishment in the field of scouting.
