Estremenho is the dialect of European Portuguese spoken in Coimbra and Lisbon, Portugal and is considered the most pure[citation needed] and correct[citation needed] form of Portuguese as it was the basis of Standard Portuguese to be taught[citation needed] and spoken[citation needed] by dwellers of Lusophone African countries, East Timor, and Macau.
