Plot

This documentary chronicles the 1968 student protests in France that eventually spread to the Cannes Film Festival. At issue was the lack of an open forum for artists, filmmakers, actors and students in which to freely express their art and ideas. Targeted were the monied bourgeois that were thought to be largely responsible for the exclusions. At the center of the controversies were the acting troupe The Living Theatre and Bejart's Ballet who gave free performances to offset the pervasive exclusionary attitudes that were the main focus of the protests. ~ Dan Pavlides, All Movie Guide
