River, northern France. From its source in the Perche Hills it flows chiefly through agricultural and wooded regions on its 140-mi (225-km) course, passing through Chartres below the cathedral, which is located on high ground on its left bank. It joins the Seine above Rouen.

The Eure is a river in northern France, left tributary of the Seine. It rises at Marchainville in the Orne département and joins the Seine near Pont-de-l'Arche. Two départements are named after the Eure, namely Eure and Eure-et-Loir.
