You're next on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange if you'd like to buy or sell Dutch stocks. Euronext Amsterdam is one of the component exchanges of Euronext, the multinational exchange that operates through bourses in Paris, Brussels, and Lisbon. (The company also trades derivatives through the London-based LIFFE exchange.) Taken all together, Euronext is the second-largest stock exchange in Europe, behind the London Stock Exchange. Euronext was formed by the combination of the independent exchanges of its various cities in 2000; stocks have traded on predecessor exchanges in Amsterdam since 1608. In 2007 the company became part of NYSE Euronext.
