Eurymedon

 

Eurymedon, one of the principal rivers of Pamphȳlia (in the south of modern Turkey), at the mouth of which the Athenian general Cimon destroyed a Persian fleet and then won a victory on land in or about 467 BC. The ruins at Aspendus (modern Belkis), some 12 km. (7 miles) upstream, include a well-preserved Roman theatre and aqueduct.
