The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) is an international non-profit trade organization, consisting of 260 member companies worldwide, representing a combined revenue of more than $2.3 billion. It promotes excellence among Christian publishers. Founded in 1974, the association has attempted to balance the competitive nature of publishing with a focus on cooperation in evangelism. Since 1978, the organization has given annual Christian Book Awards in several categories, such as reference works, fiction, theology/doctrine, and youth. Eligibility is restricted to titles published by ECPA member companies.[1] It also awards a Christian Book of the Year chosen from the Christian Book Award finalists, based on judging scores for quality and excellence and including a sales component to represent the impact of the book on consumers.[2] The ECPA is dedicated to serving the Christian publishing industry through equipping its members with cutting-edge technology, meaningful data, dynamic educational opportunity, and unprecedented access to markets.
