Biography

The Vargas girl in Du Barry Was a Lady (1943) and a show girl in many other MGM musicals of the 1940s, brunette, exotic-looking Eve Whitney is perhaps best remembered for playing the villainess, Nitra, in the Republic serial Radar Patrol vs. Sky King (1950). By then she had become the wife of studio composer-lyricist (and occasional bit player) Eddie Cherkose. She played "herself" in a 1954 episode of I Love Lucy. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
