Biography

A nine-piece funk/soul band from Detroit managed and produced by Jimmy Roach. The members were Dwayne Lomax, Rod Williams, Delores Whyte, Don Whyte, Eddie Taylor, Larry Johnson, Ron Payton, Lloyd Collier, and Leander Sanders. A deal with 20th Century Fox Records fell through and an album hung in limbo. To salvage the project, Roach released the hard-to-find LP on his Jibaro label and issued a few singles including "Dream Machine" b/w "Have a Good Life" (1981) and a 12" track that did some business entitled "You're My Superhero." Slim sales and the inability to land a deal with a major caused Everlife to disband prematurely. ~ Andrew Hamilton, All Music Guide

History

Early

Everlife originated in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The band originated in the winter of 1997 with Sarah on the drums, Amber on the guitar, and Julia on keyboard. Their first #1 radio hit, "Lead the Way", first found prominent rotation on Pittsburgh's The Fish.

Everlife eventually relocated to Nashville, TN with their parents where they signed a record deal with SHELTERecords, but were quickly picked up by Hollywood Records following the release of their first album.

Everlife is currently managed by Tattered Suit Entertainment.

Relationship with Disney

After signing with Disney, they contributed singles to several Disney soundtracks. They eventually dropped Walt Disney Records in 2007, but continue a strong relationship with Disney. They opened for The Cheetah Girls on their last few days of touring in 2006/2007, and Miley Cyrus on the last six dates of her Best of Both Worlds Tour.
