Everyday carry (EDC) refers to various items, usually small, that are worn or carried by a person on a daily basis for use in everyday tasks from the mundane to the unexpected. EDC preparedness considerations can be partially summed up in Arc Flashlight's "'Every Day Carry - most convenient' class" flashlight criteria [1]:
"The light must: Be small enough to be carried with minimum effort and thought. Ideally, it would attach to something else you already are in the habit of carrying; Be durable enough that it can be depended on over a wide type of emergencies including floods, fire, earthquake, etc."
EDC is related to carrying a concealed weapon (CCW), as most[citation needed] individuals who carry legally-permitted firearms consider them an EDC item.
