extra dry

The term "extra dry" (or extra sec) appears on sparkling wine labels to indicate that a wine is fairly dry, but with some residual sugar. Extra dry sparkling wines usually contain 1.2 to 2 percent sugar, making them sweeter than brut but drier than sec, demi sec or doux.
