Game Description
The Berenstain Bears have taken to athletic competition in an "extreme" fashion with Extreme Sports, the first Game Boy Color game featuring the popular children's storybook family. Six events are featured in the game, including sledding, dirt biking, kayaking, tobogganing, rafting, and dirt boarding. Each event is played from an overhead perspective on a vertically scrolling screen as players race through the twisting courses as quickly as possible. Along the majority of course paths are obstacles as well as ramps to jump.The bears can also perform two different tricks while they race down the multi-route courses, such as barrel rolls and flips, which have the added bonus of stopping the timer until the tricks are completed. Two modes of play are available, Championship and Time Trial, with three levels of difficulty. Championship is a series of four events with the goal being to place within the top three times on each course, while Time Trial has players racing in any of the six events in an attempt to set a new course record.
