fís

físi (pl.)
[cf. Latin visio]

Name for a class of early Irish narrative, a kind of cosmic or metaphysical travel literature; convention makes fis the first word in the title, e.g. Fís Adamnáin. Distinguish from the later aisling, which usually carries a political subtext.
