If its predecessor hadn't been so powerful, this collection might have been a little more striking in its own right. As it is, a solid if not overwhelming album sporting the memorable "Playin' in the Dirt" and "I've Slipped Her Mind." ~ Bill Dahl, All Music Guide

False Accusations is an album by The Robert Cray Band released 1985. In the same year Cray also won the W.C. Handy blues award for best male artist of 1985. His High Tone Records debut was actually his second album and first produced by Dennis Walker and Bruce Bromberg. As recently as the early '90s, Cray was under management direction to not do college radio station I.D.s, ironically often the only place that regularly played his catalogue and in spite of heroes like B.B. King, Little Milton, and Ray Charles doing similar work. This album is considered an '80s classic and one of Cray's best.
