Farid Al Atrache

Review

Quality apart, Al Atrache's music is typical of an important element in Middle Eastern music: a big-time contemporary popular style built of essentially pure Arab elements. On this album, Atrache's slightly dour vocalisms are set off by a particularly fine version of the standard female chorus (complete with hair-curling ululations on the first track). The second side was recorded live. ~ John Storm Roberts, Rovi
