Fausts Leben dramatisiert, an incomplete play dealing with Faust, which is the work of F. Müller. It was published in 1778, and the author's name was given as ‘Mahler Müller’. It is dedicated to Otto, Freiherr von Gemmingen-Hornberg. Only Pt. I (Erster Teil) is given in the text. Except for a prologue of devils and a final encounter between Faust and devils (Dunkler Wald. Kreuzweg), the extant part of the play is set entirely at Ingolstadt. It shows Faust determined to gain or lose all, yet plagued by the vulgar irrelevancies of life, notably by his creditors. At the end he is about to enter into his pact with Mephistopheles. The scene Marktplatz. Faust den Degen unterm Arm satirizes C. Kaufmann under the nickname Gottesspürhund.
