Fayetteville is a village located in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the village had a population of 4,373. The village is named after Lafayette, a national hero of both France and the United States. It is part of the Syracuse Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The Village of Fayetteville is located in the Town of Manlius, east of the City of Syracuse of which it is a suburb.

Fayetteville is in Central New York, on New York State Route 5, at 43°1′43″N 76°0′15″W / 43.02861°N 76.00417°W (43.028516, -76.004268)[1].
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.4 km²), all of it land.
New York State Route 5 and New York State Route 257 intersect in Fayetteville.
As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 4,190 people, 1,830 households, and 1,141 families residing in the village.
Public K-12 education is served by the Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District. Schools situated within the village include Fayetteville Elementary School and Wellwood Middle School.
In 2009, the Fayetteville Free Library was rated a 5-star public library by Library Journal.[3]
