Veterinary Dictionary: feeder livestock

Cattle, lambs or pigs being prepared for entry to or being fattened in a feedlot. Where livestock are fattened on pasture the term refers to castrated males, spayed heifers and cull animals offered for sale to farmers who will put them on good pasture for 3 to 9 months until they fatten. Called also store.
