Felicity is the annual cultural and technical fest of International Institute of Information Technology , Hyderabad ( IIIT-H ). It is held in the month of February for 3 days. Felicity attracts participants from all the major colleges of India as well as from International community.
A time of enjoyment, reveling, appreciation of privilege, freedom and comfort given to us, sense of celebration, the feeling and hope that everything is alright with the world. A feeling that we will make the world a better place than we found it. These words precisely define the spirit of Felicity.

Events
The events, which span a multitude of genres, can be broadly classified into Technical ,Cultural ,Literary and Kalakshetra .
Threads is the official name for the technical events held at Felicity. The technical events are highly acclaimed and they attract participants from all around the world. Leading coders of forums like SPOJ and TopCoder take part in the online programming contests. The onsite events consist of programming, gadget design and the popular gaming contest - Zombie Zone. In 2008 Threads witnessed participation from more than 3500 students across 57 nations.
The Cultural events consist of dance, music and dramatics based events. Students from around the nation come and showcase their versatile talents. The events symbolize our nation’s diverse and illustrious culture.
Literary events at Felicity span over a variety of quizzes, debates, group discussions, creative writing contests and popular literary games.
The literal meaning of Kalakshetra is “Holy Place for Arts”. Painting, T-Shirt design, Wall painting, Advertisement making, Rangoli and various other contests catering to Art and Crafts are held. Apart from this many other exciting informal events are conducted throughout the day.
Major Nights
The major nights are one of the main attractions of Felicity. These comprise of 3 nights of rocking, high intensity entertainment. The events that make up the major nights are Pro Night, Rock Night and War of the DJs.
On Pro Night a well known artist is invited by IIIT to perform in the campus grounds. This night in past has been graced by performers like the famous fusion band Indian Ocean and playback singer Mohit Chauhan . College crowds from all over Hyderabad flock to the IIIT campus to be a part of this event.
The Rock Night is one of the major highlights of Felicity . The event is officially called Riders on The Storm and attracts rock lovers from all over the city and beyond. It is one of the biggest rock gigs in Hyderabad. Mainstream rock bands of national fame like Demonic Resurrection and Sledge have previously performed as a part of the event. The night is divided into two segments, the first involving a show of talents by local rock bands followed by a performance by the guest band(s).
At The War of the DJs, competing DJs ply their trade while people scorch the dance floor to their music beats. The event is judged by a professional DJ and is one of the most hi-octane events of Felicity.
Rallies
As part of felicity, rallies are organized which concentrate on some pertinent global issues. In 2007 there was a rally on Global Warming. Students from NIFT and University of Hyderabad as well as few famous personalities took part in it apart from students and faculty members of IIIT. Similarly in 2008, there was a rally on World peace.
Talks & Workshops
Famous personalities are invited to give talks during Felicity. Famous personalities like Pullela Gopichand , Sitaram Yechury , Jayaprakash Narayan Loksatta, CEOs and leading engineers from various firms have enlightened the students about their life, views and works. Many workshops also take place during felicity. They cater to both technical interests and current trends amongst youth.
Participation
The Festival seeks participants from every corner of India. There is also a huge participation from the foreign universities of Seoul, Egypt , China and Poland. Last year more than 2000 people took part in online Threads Competitions , which were, Sculpt, Codecraft and Mathematica. The cultural events too engage a huge crowd from local people and students from different institutions.
Governing Body
The event is totally handled by the core committee which is formed well in advance of the organizing date . Among many of the companies that sponsor the event are Microsoft , Google ,Amazon.com , Computer Associates .
Impact on IIIT, it's Students and Staff
Felicity is a period of joy for each and every member of the IIIT community. Though traditionally the lead in organization is taken up by B-Tech 3rd year students, each and every member contributes to some aspect of it. It provides the students a jovial break from their academic oriented schedule and is eagerly awaited by them. The enthusiasm shown by the participants from various parts of the country has made it one of the leading college festivals.
