Fellagha

Term denoting outlaws. Fellagha (also fallak) derives from colloquial Tunisian Arabic. It was widely used by the French press to refer to Tunisian guerrilla groups fighting colonial rule, and was eventually used by the fighters themselves. It was also used in reference to anti-French fighters during the early days of the Algerian war of independence.
