(b Venice, 18 July 1842; d St Moritz, 21 Aug 1911). Italian publisher. He was first an employee and later the manager of the M?nster bookshop in the Piazza San Marco, Venice. From 1877 he was involved in an extraordinary series of 43 publications about Venetian art history, which made liberal use of photography.
