Biography

Hungarian director Ferenc Kardos works on both television productions and feature films. Following his 1961 graduation from Budapest's Academy of Theater and Film Art, where he studied film direction, Kardos co-founded Béla Balázs Studio. As a director, Kardos gained early experience with several short films and after making a feature in collaboration with Janos Rózsa, Gyerekbetegsékgek/Grimace (1965), he made his solo directorial debut with Ünnepnapok/Red-Letter Days (1967). Since 1974, all of Kardos' films have had screenplays written by his brother, István Kardos. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
