Game Description
As a lone soldier, you have one mission: to kill the evil dictator Fernandez, who is located in a well-guarded nearby base. Fernandez Must Die is an overhead shooter that places the soldier in the middle of bombarding armies, evil soldiers, air raids, and destructive tanks. No 'walk in the park,' to say the least! Before the game begins, you're given a number of grenades and lives. In order to prevail, you must make full use of the issued grenades and your machine gun to eradicate all enemies that stand in the way. Enemy soldiers come from all sides and fresh attackers fall from above by parachute. They all fire machine guns and throw grenades at the lone hero.
Grenades must be used to remove some barriers and roadblocks. If your grenade supply has been depleted, you can lure a grenadier near a barrier and get him to blow it up inadvertently. Rival tanks can also blow up these walls, but watch out for their destructive missiles.
In addition to killing hundreds of enemies on foot, the lone soldier can commandeer vehicles along the way. The vehicles contain grenades and missiles. While this will enable the soldier to reach his goal at a faster pace over open ground, vehicles cannot travel through bushes and other objects. There are times when precise navigation must be used and sometimes you'll just have to get out of the vehicle and travel by foot.
Because your soldier will take damage along the way, there are health packs strewn throughout the levels. In addition to health, there are bonus coins and other assorted items that add to the points total at the top of the screen. Killing enemies earns points as well. Will you eliminate the hordes of enemies and tanks that stand in your path, or die trying?
