ܖfœ dǝ ˈʒwä n. pl. feux de joie ܖfœ (z) pronunc. same a rifle salute fired by soldiers on a ceremonial occasion, each soldier firing in succession along the ranks to make a continuous sound.

Etymology: early 18th cent.: French, literally ‘fire of joy.’
