Ffestiniog is a community in Gwynedd, Wales, containing several villages, in particular the settlements of Llan Ffestiniog and Blaenau Ffestiniog, and has a population of 4,830.[1]
Ffestiniog was a parish in the former county of Merionethshire, later becoming an urban district.
On 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, the urban district of Ffestiniog was abolished, becoming merged with other districts to form the district of Meirionnydd. Ffestiniog became a community with a town council.
