Fifteen and Pregnant is a 1998 made-for-television drama starring Kirsten Dunst, Park Overall and David Andrews. Based on a true story, Dunst portrays a 15-year-old pregnant girl.
Plot
Tina is an average teenage girl who more than often thinks of boys. On a drive to school, Tina's mother, after hearing on the radio about the number of teenagers getting pregnant, she asks Tina if she knows anyone who is sexually active at her age, she nods her head yes.
Next, Tina's birthday comes and she is thrilled to have a gray sweater that she desired, but quickly changes mood once her mother offers criticism to have her negative. It all comes to the worst once Tina is around her best friend's house around the holiday of Christmas and she finds that her suspicions are correct when it is revealed that she is pregnant. Once she tells her mother, she is very shocked at the information for a while, but then decided to help her daughter. Her dad is less upset and hugs his daughter. Tina decided to tell her boyfriend, Ray, about the baby she is carrying is his, he is very happy at the news and dreams of having a home with the baby, much to Tina's joy.
Throughout the stressful pregnancy, Tina's younger sister feels disgust on her big sister's pregnancy and they often bicker about it causing the sister to ring up her grandmother and ask to live with her unable to handle the cope anymore. The pregnancy continues to become overwhelming, Tina has started to take teenage pregnancy classes with her mother. After hearing a story from a girl about how hard teenage motherhood is and how her boyfriend left her, Tina calls Ray and yells at him because she thinks he won't be a good father. For a while she tries to make him stay with her, but when Ray isn't as present as she would like him to be, Tina goes investigating and while at the mall she finds Ray kissing another girl, therefore cheating on her. She is hugely upset and finally tells him she is over him. As the pregnancy progresses, Tina keeps getting more and more worried over life as a mother.
Finally, she is rushed to the hospital and is about to give birth when her mother has a panic attack on how her daughter is going to have a baby. When Tina is in labor, Ray shows up at the hospital with his new girlfriend only to be turned away by Tina's father, telling him "Sperm doesn't entitle you to much" and tells him to wait in the waiting room. After a grueling labor, Tina gives birth to a baby boy named Caleb, after her father, Callum.
