FileMaker Inc. is a computer software company formed in 1998 from the vestiges of Claris as a wholly owned subsidiary of Apple Inc.

FileMaker develops, supports and markets two relational database programs; FileMaker and Bento. Filemaker is available for both Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows operating systems and is aimed towards business use, or home users with high-end needs. Bento is only available on Mac OS X operating system, though also the mobile phone operating system iPhone OS (via an additional iPhone App), and is aimed at the home user or basic small business user.

The company has been profitable for every quarter since its formation and currently employs 250 people in eight offices worldwide. [1]
