Filippiada (Greek: Φιλιππιάδα) is a municipality in the Preveza Prefecture, Greece with a population of 8,429 (2001 census). It is a small city and the second smallest city in the Preveza prefecture. The name is derived from the locals' love of horses. Filippiada is divided into smaller regions entailing Old Filippiada, New Filippiada, and Elefterochori. In ancient times, Filippiada was known as Charadron (Greek: Χάραδρον) during the 8th and 7th centuries BC. There are many sites such as Saint Bessarion Church, the monument in honor of the Bizanomachon (Greek: Μπιζανομάχων), the lake of Zeirou (Greek: Ζηρού), the town square, the square of the Pelargon (Greek: Πελαργών), beautiful forests and plains. There are many cafes, taverns, clubs, bars, hotels, and many grocery shops.
