Finance Wales gives Welsh businesses a shot of capital. The investment firm provides debt and equity funding to small and midsized companies throughout the province. Since its inception in 2000, Finance Wales has invested in some 1,700 businesses and currently manages funds of more than £130 million (or about $260 million). Its Wales Creative IP Fund invests in start-up, early stage, development capital, and succession deals in the film, TV, music production, and new media industries. Finance Wales is a subsidiary of the Welsh Assembly Government but operates on a commercially independent basis.
