Biography

This 1970s Finnish group was led by two brothers, Pekka Tegelman (guitars, bass, drums) and Jussi Tegelman (drums). Taking their cue from Mahavishnu Orchestra, the group played decent if undistinguished jazz fusion. Their eponymous first record included keyboardist Jukka Rissanen and was their most prog rock oriented album. He left by the time the band recorded their sophomore album, Lahto Matkalle (1976). By that point the group had two keyboardists, Jukka Linkola and Peretti Pokki. The band's final record, Demonnights (1979) was both their most jazzy album and their least original, sounding increasingly similar to Weather Report. For the record, the band added a second guitarist, Jari Rissanen, two saxophonists (Heikki Keskinen and the famous Juhani Aaltonen), Tuomo Helin (bass), and Jarmo Savolainen (keyboards). ~ Geoff Orens, All Music Guide
