Irish Literature Companion: Fled Dúin na nGéd

Fled Dúin na nGéd (Feast of Dún na nGéd), a tale of the historical cycle, recounting the background to the battle fought at Moira, Co. Down, in AD 637. The Ulster king Congal Claen revolts against Domnall, the Uí Néill king at Tara, having been insulted at a feast at Dún na nGéd. Samuel Ferguson's Congal (1872) is based on John O'Donovan's 1842 edition of the tale and its sequel Cath Maige Rath.
