Sports Science and Medicine: flexor carpi ulnaris

A two-headed muscle that is the most medial muscle of the forearm. It has its origins on the medial epicondyle of the humerus and the olecranon process of the ulna. It has its insertion on the pisiform, hamate, and fifth metacarpal bones. It is a powerful wrist flexor and hand abductor working in concert with the extensor carpi ulnaris. It stabilizes the wrist during finger extension.
