Florian Geyer
Geyer, Florian (1490-1525, Rimpar), a 16th-c. nobleman and soldier, served in 1519 in the forces of the Swabian League which expelled Duke Ulrich von Württemberg from his territory. In 1525 he joined the peasant side in the Peasants' War (see Bauernkrieg), and was assassinated while on a diplomatic mission. He is the subject of G. Hauptmann's tragedy Florian Geyer.
