Members of the families Bothidae and Pleuronectidae; flatfish with eyes on the same side of the head.

  • f. ulcer disease — progressive and sometimes fatal ulceration in greenback flounder and probably other species of flatfish. Caused by Aeromonas salmonicida. See also atypical aeromonas salmonicida.
