Form of production limited to a very small number of products for a particular target market. This requires a smaller investment and allows a greater degree of expertise to be developed than a more diversified manufacturing operation.

Objective of a focused factory is to organize around a specific set of resources to provide low cost and high throughput over a narrow range of products.
