The oxymoronic Forest Electric focuses on electrifying the concrete jungle, not tracts of timberland. A subsidiary of engineering and construction giant EMCOR, Forest Electric is one of the largest electrical contractors in the New York metropolitan area, where it installs and maintains electrical systems and equipment, including voice and data communications systems. It also constructs on-site power generating and cogeneration plants. Forest Electric's customer list includes The New York Times, the New York Mercantile Exchange, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Goldman Sachs. The company also is involved in providing electrical services for several condominium conversions in New York and New Jersey.
