Biography

Despite their age, Forever in Terror are as aggressive and savage as the majority of veteran metal bands. Hair-raising vocals are howled with a terrifyingly powerful and harsh scream, alongside blazing Yngwie Malmsteen viking metal guitar harmonies, bottom-heavy bass, and a thrashing double kickdrum that effortlessly switches up tempos. In 2003, Nick Borukhovsky rallied four other 15-year-olds together after class in Streetsboro, OH, to start perfecting a new blend of metal, black metal, and thrash. Heavily influenced by As I Lay Dying, Cannibal Corpse, and Unearth, they went through several name changes before settling on the name Forever in Terror (they were formerly 7th Plague and, before that, Theorum). After replacing several members, including their vocalist, Tim Felger, they decided on the permanent lineup of Chris Bianchi (vocals), Nate Marti (rhythm guitar), Josh Owen (bass), Johnny Burke (lead guitar), and founding drummer Borukhovsky. After finishing their self-titled demo in August of 2005, they recruited Neil Sheehan from HM Management to shop the CD to several labels, and that October they learned that the home of many of their favorite bands, Metal Blade Records, was interested in having them join its roster. Before any of the members had turned 18, they were enlisted in the same ranks as their heroes. After an extensive promotional U.S. tour in the summer of 2006, they attended classes until winter break, when they entered Cleveland's Track Six Studios with their original producer, Don Debiase. A month later, in February of 2007, the album Restless in the Tides was completed and the bandmembers toured to support the album on weekends as they finished attending high school. ~ Jason Lymangrover, All Music Guide

History

Formerly known as 7th plague, Forever in Terror began just over three years ago with five friends in Streetsboro, Ohio about 30 miles outside of Cleveland, Ohio. The band was formed by drummer Nick Borukhovsky and between 2003 - 2006 the band went through name changes and member changes to finalize its current lineup of Ben Kantura(rhythm guitar), Chad Lundgren (bass guitar), Mike Wartko (keys) and Nick Borukhovsky (drums), Chris Bianchi (vocalist) and Glenn "Glizzy" Moore (lead guitar)

In 2004 after several small local shows the band caught the attention of Concert Promotions and Band Management firm Hardcore Marketing, Inc. HM, Inc asked the band to play the top venue in Cleveland, The Odeon Concert Club. They were an instant fan favorite with their new wave of American heavy metal stylings. The band quickly gained recognition due to the talent at such a young age. The band opened for some of the biggest national names in metal including Machine Head, Unearth, Trivium, God Forbid, All That Remains, DevilDriver, Meshuggah, Mushroomhead, etc. However, the highest honor came when the band was asked to open for Cleveland home town legends Chimaira.

In early 2005 after having played several more high profile shows the band was approached by Hardcore Marketing, Inc. in-house producer Don Debiase (Gatlin, APG). Because of previous good relations between the band and HM, Inc. Forever in Terror chose Debiase to produce its first demo. In the midst of consistent gigging, Forever in Terror entered Track Six Recording Studios with Debiase, and engineer Brandon Youngs in early July 2005. Throughout Forever in Terror's time in the studio, Debiase was persistent in keeping Owner and Band Manager of HM, Inc., Neil Sheehan, aware of the professional quality music being produced by the young band.

Upon finishing their demo the band had Sheehan shop the demo to several record labels. In October 2005, the members of 7th Plague learned that Metal Blade Records was putting an offer in on the band. In January 2006, the band accepted the offer from Metal Blade.

"We are completely elated about the signing and what is to come for us in the near future. All of us are only seventeen years old and we are still having trouble accepting the fact that our dreams are coming true at such a young age. To be a part of the Metal Blade Records family and to be represented alongside bands such as Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Cannibal Corpse, The Black Dahlia Murder, Six Feet Under and so many of our other favorite bands, its just amazing. We know we are young, but we are humble, and we want fans of NWOAHM to judge the music not the age," stated Borukhovsky.

The band hit the road for two years straight to support their freshman release Restless in the Tides, accomplishing several full U.S. tours, as well as a Canadian run under their belt. They have toured with bands such as Iwrestledabearonce, Vital Remains, Monstrosity, Beneath the Sky, Last Chance to Reason, Look What I Did, and Hell Within.

After almost two years straight on the road, the guys were ready to head home. At the end of their last tour in summer 2007 the band parted ways with label Metal Blade Records. They returned home to regroup and start writing their second release, The End, while the writing process slowly began. Josh Owen (bass) and Nate Marti(Guitar) then decided it best to step down from being in the band.

The guys then regrouped, and added some new members to change up the mix and sound slightly. They immediately began working on their second release, The End. They added Mike Wartko (keyboards), Ben Kantura (guitar), and Chad Lundgren (bass) to finish off the new lineup.

The band later parted ways with former management company Neil Sheehan and HM LIVE. Stating that "Neil and everyone at HM was our first home, they have helped us out in so many ways. We just felt it in our best interest to take full control of all band relations for time being."

The band will embark on their first headlining tour in July 2009 with Widow Sunday and Behold Eternity as the openers. They will also do a two-week Canadian run with Beneath the Sky as well as more US dates.

Discography

Former names

The band's name has been a recurrent problem. In the early days with Tony in the band, they were known as Theorem. When he was replaced with Johnny Burke, the band's entire soundscape had changed and were in need of a new name. After months of searching, 7th plague was chosen, but they did not know that it was already taken by another band. After several months of getting their name established and getting signed to Metal Blade Records, the band was notified and was forced to change their name again. There were other names before Theorem, but none of the band members can remember them because of the fast rate at which they were changed.
