Formenius, Fearmenius

Alpine hermit and former king of ‘Thrace’ who calls down fatal lightning upon Dathí when that Irish king destroys his tower hermitage. The Continental setting may signal a non-Irish origin; some commentators have suggested a model in Faramund, cited by the medieval French chronicler Fredegar.
