1. Creation of a print tape that will computer-address labels or forms in a desired format and/or sequence. For example, a formatted print tape might be programmed to print the address within the amount of space available on a label in the required five-digit zip code sequence.
2. conversion of computer file elements to a different format for processing on a different system, such as the rearrangement of fields in each record or the conversion of a magnetic tape file to labels for mailing.
3. Preparation of a floppy disk as required for the software with which it will be used.
