Marketing Dictionary:

forward sortation area (FSA)

First three digits of the canadian postal code, which identify the area in which the addressee is located. Marketers use the FSA, just as they use the first three digits of the ZIP code, to categorize customers and identify prospects. See also five-digit zip code; sectional center facility.
