FP Resources (formerly FPI Limited) sold off all of its seafood assets in 2007 in order to become an investment and holding company. In order to facilitate the change, the company sold its Ocean Cuisine International to Ocean Choice International for $175 million in cash and its Fishery Products International North American marketing and manufacturing businesses to High Liner Foods for $87 million in cash plus a stake in High Liner. The company changed its name to FP Resources and began using funds received from the sales (including part of its High Liner stake) to build up its business. Among its first investments was a stake in Caribbean Data Centers (Barbados).
