Francis Cugat was an artist whose most famous work was the original 1925 cover of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Biography
Little is known of Cugat other than that he was born in Spain in 1893 and was the older brother of bandleader Xavier Cugat.[1] The Cugat family emigrated to Cuba in 1903.[2] It is also known that at one time, Francis was a designer in Hollywood for Douglas Fairbanks and had a 1942 show in New York, well after his famous work for The Great Gatsby.[1]
