Freak Out

A Freak Out is a pendulum-based fairground ride. It is a smaller version of the Afterburner (Fireball) ride; both of which are manufactured by KMG of the Netherlands.

The riders sit facing each other on chairs suspended around the bob on the pendulum. The pendulum is supported by two A-frames with a height of 13 meters (43 ft.), and the base of the ride is filled with water to give the weight needed to prevent base movement while in motion. During motion, the pendulum climbs to a maximum angle of 127° and reaches a height of 22 meters (72 ft.). Whilst swinging, the chairs rotate around the axis of the pendulum. Most Freakout rides require the rider to be about 132 or 137 cm (52 or 54 inches).[citation needed]
