Frederick Thomas Dawson (1884 in Warren, Massachusetts – 1965 in Lincoln, Nebraska) was a University of Nebraska Cornhusker head American football coach.

Dawson was born to Sylvester and Elizabeth Peers Dawson. Fred was the eleventh of twelve children.

Dawson was a 1910 graduate of Princeton University.

In addition to his coaching duties at the University of Nebraska, Dawson coached at Columbia University and the University of Virginia.

Health problems eventually forced him to leave the coaching field. He became an industrial psychologist.

After retirement, Dawson was a well known public speaker.
