Frederic Logan Paxson (February 23, 1877 in Philadelphia – October 24, 1948 in Berkeley, California) was a Pulitzer Prize winning American historian. He had also been a President of the Organization of American Historians. He had degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard University. From 1932 to 1947 he taught at the University of California.

As a historian he was considered an authority on the American West. His 1925 Pulitzer Prize was for History of the American Frontier.
